The library is celebrating the tenth annual Teen Read Week(TM), October 14 – 20, 2007. We are joined by thousands of other libraries, schools and bookstores across the country who are encouraging teens to celebrate this year’s theme, "LOL @ your library®." Teen Read Week(TM) is the national adolescent literacy initiative of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), the fastest growing division of the American Library Association. This year’s theme encourages teens to read humorous books and graphic novels just 'for the fun of it'.

...and we need your support!
You can vote for the Teens' Top Ten! The only "teen choice" list where the books are chosen by teens for teens, Teens' Top Ten voting opens October 14. Teens can vote throughout Teen Read Week for their favorite books from a list of 25 nominees. Visit www.ala.org/teenstopten today! Results will be posted in early November. Teens' Top Ten is part of the YA Galley project.
You can choose next year's theme! Visit the Teen Read Week Web site and help us pick next year's Teen Read Week theme! You can vote on three options—"Your Quest Begins @ your library®"; "Books with Bite @ your library®" ; or "Find Magic @ your library®"—or you can write in their own ideas.
Give us your opinions! Every Teen Read Week, YALSA partners with SmartGirl.org to survey teens on their reading habits, providing us with useful data to share with others invested in teen literacy. Please visit the Teen Read Week Web site and take the SmartGirl.org Teen Read Week Survey this year.
Win an author visit for your Library! Teen Read Week celebration will not be successful without your help! So tell us all about your awesome celebration, and you could win a visit from YA author Tiffany Trent, creator of the Hallowmere series and author of "In the Serpent's Coils," courtesy of 2007 Corporate Sponsor Mirrorstone Books! Contest details, official rules and application form are available on the Teen Read Week Web site.
