Build A PC - Own A PC!
Have you ever wanted to see inside a computer? Have you ever wanted to take a computer entirely apart and put it back together? Have you ever wanted to customize a computer? At the Wicomico Public Libraries' Computer Club, students will be doing all of it!
Computer club is an intense 2-3 hour per week session where students will be guided through the entire process of building their own computers from scratch. They will start by learning all of the different parts of a modern computer, from the hard drive to the motherboard and graphics card. Then, they will be guided through that process of actually constructing their own computer. When the program has concluded, the computers they have built will be theirs to take home... if the students "make" it work!
Computer Club is a free program that runs from Saturdays, Jan. 6th to April 28th from 10am - 1pm at the Wicomico Public Libraries, Downtown Library. The age group is for students 7th - 11th grade.
There will be a program orientation for families on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 10am-1pm in the Entrepreneur Center/Computer Lab at the Downtown Library.
Space is limited! Application deadline is Nov.22nd. All applicants will be contacted by Wednesday December 13th. One applicant per family. Submit an application.
