Build A PC - Own A PC!
Have you ever wanted to see inside a computer? Have you ever wanted to take a computer entirely apart and put it back together? Have you ever wanted to customize a computer? At the Wicomico Public Libraries' Computer Club, students will be doing all of it!
Computer club is an intense 2-3 hour per week session where students will be guided through the entire process of building their own computers from scratch. They will start by learning all of the different parts of a modern computer, from the hard drive to the motherboard and graphics card. Then, they will be guided through that process of actually constructing their own computer. When the program has concluded, the computers they have built will be theirs to take home... if the students "make" it work!
Computer Club is a free program that runs from Saturdays, August 19th to December 9th from 1pm to 4pm at the Wicomico Public Libraries, Centre Branch. The age group is for students 7th - 11th grade.
There will be a program orientation for families on Saturday, August 12th @ 1pm at the Centre Branch.
Space is limited! Application deadline is Aug. 8th. All applicants will be contacted by August 10th. One applicant per family. Submit an application.
